PDO Threads Post Care Instructions
Immediately After Treatment (First 24 Hours):
- Do not touch, rub, or massage the treated areas.
- Avoid applying makeup for at least 24 hours.
- Use a cold compress gently to reduce swelling (10–15 minutes at a time).
- Remain upright for at least 3–4 hours post-treatment.
- Avoid alcohol, smoking, and strenuous activity.
First 3–7 Days:
- Sleep on your back with your head elevated; avoid side or stomach sleeping.
- Minimize facial movements (avoid wide yawning, excessive talking, big smiles).
- Avoid chewing gum and stick to soft foods, especially if threads were placed in the lower face.
- Do not undergo facials, massages, or apply pressure to the face.
- Avoid heat exposure (saunas, hot tubs, hot yoga, long hot showers).
- Mild swelling, bruising, tightness, tenderness, or slight asymmetry is normal.
1–2 Weeks Post-Treatment:
- Continue to avoid facial treatments, dental work, or any procedures that put pressure on the face.
- Avoid intense workouts or heavy lifting if still tender.
- You may gradually return to normal facial movements as comfort allows.
- Use gentle skincare only—avoid exfoliants, retinoids, and acids.
2–4 Weeks:
- Collagen stimulation begins—results will continue improving.
- You may resume most normal activities unless otherwise directed.
- Follow up with your provider if recommended.
Important Care Tips:
- Stay well hydrated and maintain good nutrition.
- Avoid sleeping on treated areas long-term during healing.
- Do not manipulate or attempt to adjust threads yourself.
Insertion Points
Small entry sites may be visible initially and can appear as tiny scabs or dimples.
If you see a thread protruding , follow up with your provider for trimming.
Contact Your Provider Immediately If You Experience:
A visible or protruding thread not at insertion point
Increasing or severe pain
Skin dimpling that worsens or does not improve
Redness, warmth, discharge, or fever (signs of infection)
